💙👑 Winter Royal Route Walkthrough at MCMS 👑💙 This week, Mason County Middle School proudly hosted our very first Winter Royal Route Walkthrough, and what an incredible experience it was! At MCMS, all of our 7th and 8th grade students are enrolled in a Royal Route (pathway) for learning. Our four Royal Routes, Arts Alley, Career Court, Leadership Lane, and Preparation Parkway, give students meaningful opportunities to explore interests, build skills, and connect learning to the real world. Throughout the semester, students worked hard on class projects, and this week they had the opportunity to showcase their work to teachers, district staff, community members, and all of our 6th grade students. Students confidently explained how their projects challenged and changed them, and how their work connected to learning in their core classes. Guests and 6th graders asked high-level questions, leading to rigorous dialogue and deep reflection about the learning process. This walkthrough also served as an exciting first glimpse of Royal Routes for our 6th graders, who will soon have student choice in selecting their Royal Route for 7th and 8th grade. At MCMS, we pride ourselves on strong student relationships and vibrant learning experiences that connect to authentic, real-world situations, while remaining grounded in high-quality instructional resources (HQIR). Our Lost and Found is very full! Please remind your student to stop by and check for any missing jackets, hoodies, water bottles, or other items. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the second nine weeks. Thank you for helping us get these belongings back to their owners!

School will be closed in Mason County today. This will be NTI #2.

Mason County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay today, Monday, December 8th.

There will no school today in Mason County, Tuesday, December 2, 2025. This will be NTI day number 1. Teachers will be available, virtually, to assist students with help as needed! Please check Google Classroom for assignments.

🇺🇸 Thank you to everyone who made our Veterans Day program so special! 🇺🇸 A huge thank you to our Student Council for preparing and leading such a meaningful ceremony. Our band and choir students sounded absolutely wonderful—your performances made us proud! 🎶 We were honored to have Mason County High School graduate, JT Simms, as our guest speaker. Thank you, JT, for sharing your message and for your active duty service to our country. And most importantly, thank you to all the veterans and active duty members who joined us today. We deeply appreciate and honor your service and sacrifice. 💙❤️

🇺🇸 Honoring All Who Served! 🇺🇸 MCMS will hold our Veterans Day Program on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. We invite and encourage our students to bring a family member who is a Veteran or currently serving in the military to join us as we honor their service and sacrifice. 💙❤️

💙 Tomorrow is Mrs. Iyengar’s last day as our Assistant Principal! Next week, she begins an exciting new chapter as the Interim Principal at MCIS! We are so thankful for her leadership, dedication, and the care she’s shown our students and staff. MCMS won’t be the same without her, but we’re so proud of her and know she’ll do amazing things at MCIS! Help us show Dr. I some love tomorrow and join us in wishing her the very best in her new role! 💫 #BetterTogether

🥫 Join us in the Mason County Schools Food Drive! 🥫 MCMS students are invited to help make a difference in our community by bringing in canned goods between November 4th–25th. Every donation helps support local families in need this holiday season.

📣 Exciting News, Royals! 💙👑 We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Amanda Jolley will be joining the MCMS staff as our Interim Assistant Principal! A proud Mason County graduate, Mrs. Jolley has spent the past nine years teaching at Mason County High School. She brings a passion for supporting student success and fostering a strong, positive school community. Outside of school, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their two daughters, Caroline and Riley. Please join us in giving Mrs. Jolley a warm Royal welcome to the middle school family!

At tomorrow's staff vs. student game, representatives from MCHS FCCLA will be set up selling freeze-dried candy to raise money for Dance Blue and pediatric cancer: Dance Blue is an event hosted at UK by students to raise money for pediatric cancer. At UK the event is a full 24 hours of dancing/standing with no sitting down the entire time! Mason County will be hosting our very own mini Dance Blue alongside the UK coordinators on November 14th in the Fieldhouse!

For any student-athlete who is interested in playing Royals Baseball this spring, there is an informational meeting on Monday evening at 6:30 at the baseball field.  If you have questions, please reach out to Coach Jason Butler at 606-407-1280
